I am in the market for a 2 man plastic boat. I live in NE kS and predominantly fish farm ponds up to 12 acres in size but most 2 - 3 acre ponds. I had a 8' "clamshell" style Water Scamp boat since 1982... loved how stable it was... finally sold it because the plastic was getting a bit brittle. Then purchased a similar style Pelican bass raider 8' boat... Don't like it at all... it is not nearly as stable as my old water scamp. Been doing some "net" reading... are the Bass Hunter brand of boats the top of the line? and if any of you guys own one, what do you think of the stability... I like the light weight of the 8' boats... but may consider moving up to a 10' style so I can take both young grand kids out with me. I can usually drive right up to anywhere I fish... but have to be a little bit concerned about the weight for loading it in the pickup by myself... Kind a like the built in wheels idea on the 8' bass hunter brand... but a bit miffed on why the do not put wheels on the 10 footer... guess I could rig some up if need be.
Would kinda like the input from some of you guys who own a pond hopper style boat and what your opinions are on the best/ most stable ones out there?? Thanks.

I'm happy with my "just shy of 10' long" Water Tender. It weighs 150 pounds.

I heard the Twin Troller is one of the most stable, but seems pricey to me.
