I have seen variations of underwater camera's for sale from time to time and was wondering if one is better than the other or if they worked at all.

I see Sportsmans guide has one forsale for 299 with a color monitor to boot.

Another question; Can you control the camera on these things? I mean is there a remote control to the underwater camera so you can follow or change directions?

Viking,

I bought an Aqua-vu a couple of years ago for pond observation. Tried it out once and immediately boxed it up and sent it back for refund.

I had two problems; 1) the infrared light and temp sensor didn't work and 2) it was not "steerable"

As a result, it couldn't do the task I wanted it for...fish observation.

Maybe things have improved since my experience....if so, I'd like to hear about it.

I've never used one but my immediate consideration is that they should have limited value in a properly maintained pond. When you shoot for visibility of 18 to 24 inches, what can you really see and how can it help you?
