Here are the results of water samples of our newly established pond in south central Mississippi. We spread close to 8 tons of AG lime in a 2 acre pond before the pond filled with rain water that drains from a pine plantation. This was applied in fall of 22. I’m a little surprised to see the pH numbers going up. The turbidity is very low with a clarity depth of about 36”. I’m on my third application of pond pro fertilizer 10-46-4. Our BG are thriving, feeding, and spawning well. Based on what I’ve read the chemistry looks great. Just not sure why the pH is rising. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If the BG are thriving, it sounds good to me!

pH does vary on time of day and also varies seasonally.

Were all of your samples taken at the same time of day?

Dissolved CO2 is one of the components that lowers the pH. As your photosynthesizing organisms are thriving, they tend to utilize the dissolved CO2 and your pH will increase.

Just throwing out some guesses for your observed results.
