Recently bought some cutrine plus granular. I treated somewhere between 1/4 to 1/3 of my pond already and it looks to be working a lot better than the spray I was using. Algae is brown and disintegrating after about 3 days now. How long before I can treat another section? And is it okay to rake the dead algae out or should I just leave it and wait? I can still see some of the grains on top and hate to take them out if they are still working or is what’s left already used up?

Visible algae control usually occurs in 3 to 4 days but can take up to 10 days for maximum results. Although Cutrine Plus Granular is used in millions of ponds across the world, it is best to always wear protective gloves and a mask when applying this or any other aquatic chemical to your pond. Tips: Never treat your entire pond is fish are present, treat in sections no more than 50% of the entire surface and subsurface combined in one application with 14 days between treatments. Always apply the granules working from the shoreline out to allow fish to move to untreated areas. Retreatments may be necessary if visual inspection shows a return or regrowth occurring. Raking the FA out will remove it's nutrients (deterring future plant growth) and prevent it from consuming pond O2 as it decays. It's a plus (especially in eutrophic waters), but your call as to whether it's worth the effort.
