I have my Texas Hunter set to throw 20 seconds in the morning and 20 seconds in the evening and the Tilapia and CNBG aggressively clean up the feed in under 2 minutes.

With the drought, my water is unusually clear causing a surge in algae growth...Lots of algae!!!

Should I slow down on the feed to force the TP back to eating algae?

FWIW, I stocked 150#;s of TP in my 5 acre pond back in May and am seeing offspring.

Can't hurt to try. I'd do a 2 week trial.

This exact question was asked Last Weds night on PondBoss Live.
Bob recommended cutting feed in half, but if water quality is such that it's getting "hot" nutrient-wise, I'd be apt to go to 5-6 seconds each.

Turning the feeder down to 10 seconds for a while.

In the absence of a bloom I don’t think it’s too hot.

One good thing about clear water is I am seeing my TP mid season for the first time in the 4-5 years I have been stocking them. Usually I see them leave the truck and don’t see them again until die in late fall. Now I am seeing the small fish schooling.

I am encouraged at seeing lots of minnow size bait fish and the bass are really working the shore line catching CNBG & TP. Lots of big splashes. More than usual. Neat seeing multiple 15” LMB cruise the shore line in clear water looking for a meal.
