I started a thread awhile back asking what feeder to buy and the majority seemed to say Texas Hunter. I ordered one from Greg Grimes and here it is installed.

It has worked great so far except for some reason the Texas Hunter timer keeps adding one second???
In the upper part of the photo you can see a cove that we call "Lunkerville". Not sure why but that is where the big lmb hang out.
The dam is off to the right and can't be seen in the photo, the pond is about a quarter mile from end to end. Off to the left there are a couple of acres that are only about 2-3 feet deep. Some day I'll get around to boating to that end and fishing around the edges of the cattails. I've been hesitant to do it because I'm afraid that I'll run my boat, the SS Caulky aground. Do you think that anything worth my time would be lurking in water that shallow?

BH call us if you cannot get the timer issue resolved. Depends on time of day but sure many fish will go into two feet water.

As Greg said, I think there is a great chance you'd find fish in that cover and depth. Remember that they migrate up and down depending on the time of day and some other factors, so there is a good chance you'd find fish there. Plus, you may well have forage using the cattails for cover, and where there's forage, there are often bigger fish waiting to eat! For what it's worth, most of my small pond is less than 3 feet with about 1/3 of it in the 4 - 6 foot range, but I call almost all of my LMB in the shallow parts and have only rarely caught them in the deep part. When I do, it is usually right where a natural shelf exists and they hang out right by the drop off, so I'm not really catching them deep, but rather right at that transition point. Give it a shot and take some pics of your results. By the way, beautiful looking pond!

Great looking BOW Richard! Any more pics for us? I'd love to come visit sometime - and have you down for the same.

Perhaps only Husker and Longhorn fans get the extra one second comment.

Oh, geez! Don't know how I missed that one other than it was a beautifully played, seriously subtle piece of humor! Now that you make that comment, it's glaringly clear!

I'm trying to figure out how to explain this to my wife;
Wife; who are you going fishing with?
Me; TJ
Wife; Who is he?
Me; This guy from over by Lincoln.
Wife; What do you know about this "TJ"?
Me; Virtually nothing.
Wife; Where did you meet him?
Me; On the internet.

Hope my teenage daughter isn't listening to this conversation!

I would keep a low profile, and watch my back if I was you.
You think your daughter or wife gave that advice???????????

I'm sure my wife and daughter would like to throw me in a pond sometimes.
