Taurine is a critical protein in fish food, as our finny friends depend on it. What's interesting is that recent studies seem to show that taurine has profound positive effects on us, too.
In particular, it dials up insulin sensitivity, a big deal to Type 2 diabetics like myself. Some research indicates it also improves athletic performance by increasing the efficiency of muscle cells.
Best sources of taurine: Shellfish, mussels, scallops, tuna (especially the darker meat), and to a lesser extent fish in general. Tilapia & Salmon are good sources, and I suspect LMB and BG are as well. Feed 'em, then eat 'em!
