Noticed a couple days ago that some sort of varmint was chewing on the cattail sprouts around my pond.
Yesterday afternoon I noticed an odd wake on the water... sure enough it was a young muskrat.
Went inside and grabbed Mr. Ruger. Muskrat invader is now enjoying muskrat valhalla.
The baby grass is taking off on the pond dam where I did some landscaping the other week. It's been so dry here I've been using the lawn sprinkler on it. Most years we're drowning in April. Not this time.
I'm not a big fan of cattails, but they serve as an excellent MEWS (Muskrat Early Warning System).
