With no proper catfish bait in hand we switched to Plan B.

Launched at Bagnell and went bass fishing downstream from the ramp.

It was a good call. We didn't find the hybrids or white bass, but the black bass were more than willing to cooperate.
We caught largemouth, spots, and several very nice smallmouth. First time I'd ever caught SMB that far up the Osage.

My buddy caught quite a few crappie, and a ~5lb smallmouth buffalo on a RoadRunner. Never seen that done before, either. lol

With only the house turbine running since last Thursday the river was as low as I've seen it. It would have been worth the trip even if
the fish weren't biting. Now I've seen with my eyes what I'd only seen on sonar in the past. Saw some things that said "fish here"
when the water is up, and saw some things that said "float on past" when the water is up.
