FishinRod	Why plug the old stand pipe? It could serve as one extra bit of "emergency spillway". Either set your siphon control level 1-2" below your standpipe level, or add a little ring to elevate your standpipe level. If it is not moving water, then the beaver should leave it alone. If it continues to cause problems, then you can always plug it later.
