I have a small pond ~75 ft diameter and would like to add a small dock, really more of a deck on the water.

The pond has a maximum depth of about 8 ft. Water can go up and down as much as 4 ft, but is usually fairly stable. I have some control over the level.

The shore is heavily vegetated with cattails and other wild plants. The dock would let us get out ot where we could better see the pond. No boating and probably not much fishing from the dock, pond is too small. Might occasionally swim from it. It is spring fed and does not freeze in winter. Bottom is a foot or so of muck underlain by a gravel/silt/clay material.

I have been talking with an ezdock dealer, but they are not very responsive. Maybe my needs are too small for them. Any and all suggestions welcome.

If viewing your pond is the goal I would suggest spraying 75% of the cattails with ShoreDefender then burning off the dead cattails and rake the root balls out. You will gain almost 10' of pond surface and be able to just build a pier or platform near the shore. From experience it eliminates the need for a floating dock or pier to extend past the growth and helps the overall look of the pond. Keep some of the cattails for small fish cover.
