About to start digging my 1 acre bass pond in SE Texas and wanting to see if I could get some advice on what’s the best slope for stability, max depth for a healthy bass population, what percentage of my pond should be max depth, and how much deeper should I initially dig it to account for settling? Also picture of pond design and depths of what I thought we be best after the pond settled attached. Thank y’all in advance!!
Thoughtful design for growing fish and angling activities. All your algae and weed problems grow in shallow shoreline areas and not in the deep parts of the pond. Your pond design has lots of shallow shoreline and dead water pockets. Be advised, If you aerate this pond, it will require numerous diffusers one in each of the "back" water areas or pockets to provide adequate all pond water circulation if you want those areas to be destratified and receive upwelling circulation currents. Bottom diffusers provide the best water circulation pattern and work best in mainly bowl shaped areas. It is hard for water movement currents to go around corners.
