Pond Boss Forums Thread Like Summary - Solar dock lights... GREEN or WHITE?

Trying to find some solar flood lights for our docks that are in middle of farm with no electricity. Trying to find straight solar panel light or a 12/24v battery linked to a solar panel and run them with a photocell maybe dusk to dawn to attract bugs for the fish. Anyone have any links to lights they recommend? Will a green light attract just as many bugs as white? I think we would prefer green even if possibly have to run a green tint over white led lights?

Lake lite is the company I used. I bought path lights that don't directly shine into the water but rather light up the dock's walkway. They were super easy to install and hold their charge the entire night. I've been extremely impressed to this point which has been about 6 months with no maintenance at all.

I am in a similar position, no power and was wanting solar lights for bugs for the fish only, I don't care to light up the dock area for human activities.

I would guess those are two different color requirements, a color that doesn't attract bugs for human activities and different color to attract bugs for fish feeding.

Wish I could find a decent bug zapper that is solar powered, but I have tried a couple different ones that never killed a single gnat.

I did fix a Japanese beetle trap on a tube with a floating platform that dropped them down the middle and straight into the water with no escape routes, the bluegill loved it, you would see one spiral down the tube into the water, followed by the zap of a bluegill hitting the top of the water, inhaling it.

I don't know how bright they are.
I have a short video on youtube. Will see if I can make it work... The lights are zip-tied to a rod on the railings. Probably 2ft off the water facing straight down. I think I picked a spotlight configuration instead of a floodlight. This is what it's like all night every night.
