Pond Boss Forums Thread Like Summary - Allowing geese to nest?

I have battled geese from nesting on my 4 yo 1 acre pond every year with good results. This year we are on vacation and I’m sure when I return I’ll have an active nest in progress. If I let this nest survive for the adults raise their young on this pond for my grandchildren to witness, will it be catastrophic for my water quality? I understand the negatives from waste on docks and surrounding areas but water quality is my concern. I’m sure there are multiple pond owners that have experienced this. What was the results? Thank you!

I let a pair nest on my island, then I came home to a party that they were throwing and they invited about 40 relatives. The following year I had an explosion of Eurasian Water Milfoil in the pond. From then on I had to battle it, even when using Sonar A.S. every other year.

I have since learned that a SINGLE goose can pool enough fertilizer in the pond EVERY DAY to grow 115# of algae......
