I will probably have to check with the water authority before doing anything, but thought I would seek a little advice here first.

Our dock was out of the water during the drought last year and part of the year before. I would like to clear out some of the (land based) vegetation around the dock so we can have a little room for the boats. If we have a good freeze this winter, a lot of this stuff you see in the photos should die off.

Any suggestions for what we should do for now to get a little more room. As you can see, I plowed a trail with the good ole stainless prop up to the dock.

Note: There is 4' of water under the dock.

JP do you know what the plant(s)is/are? ID is the first step. AquaPlant is a good source for id and mgt options.

Try the emergent plant section :

It's Bob Sandlin. A guy from the Titus Water Authority is meeting me Friday. I'll let y'all know what his suggestions are and what they will allow us to do. The cove was all water and lily pads in the past.

Wow. We have some family friends that have a house on Bob Sandlin. I guess all of the vegetation is there because of the low water levels?
