I have a better photo of just how low the pond is. I know that other pic might be a funny but I am serious about doing something to aerate before I have a big problem. I think I'm going to have a serious problem but can't seem to get an answer from anyone on whether I might be reaching a critical stage or how to tell. I called the extension office here today and perhaps they may have someone that can help me. I understand the paddlewheel type aerators are for pretty large ponds and mine is only about an acre so I have to have something else. I also called the KY fisheries aquaculture dept today and they told me a KASCO would be the next best thing and that the fish would just go to the area that had the most oxygen content when I ran it. I am unable to run electric line way back there by this year so will need an alternative emergency plan. I understand you can back your tractor up to the edge of the pond and put your bushhog down in the water and run it? Do you put it all the way in the water? An inch in the water? Run it for how long? Build a ramp for the tractor? Has anyone done this? I took another pic today of the area I feed in so you can see just how much water I've lost this year. I'm sorry if I've stepped on anyone's toes. It was not my intent and I'm just trying to find out honestly what's the best thing for my fish.
