Bill, I didn't purchase any but went to a creek that I was told about in North Texas and caught about 100. I put them in a one acre pond and never saw them again. I expect they were a quick snack for the bass and catfish.

My previous stocking attempt was in a real small pond. I questioned the water quality there so didn't try that spot again. Even though small bluegill and frogs make it there, my talks with the crawdad farmers made me figure that they aren't as bullet proof as I had figured. When, or if, I try it again, I will stock them in a running creek on my property.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
