I've been reading and reading but can't seem to find just how much lime or gypsum you would want to apply to a pond. Is there a formula somewhere that I've missed?

I believe it depends on your pond/water condition and what you are trying to accomplish. A water test should be used to determine the amount of lime to add to change the pH to a certain level. Why are you adding the gypsum?

Well, send some of that coconut my way lol. That song reminds me of when I lived in Hawaii - too funny.

Rob, I'm not going to in my pond but I wanted to send the info to my neighbors across the road. They have a tiny pond of maybe 1/4 acre and it's flat milky grey. They've lived there a couple years now and it's been like that the whole time. They have a couple of ducks and geese who have just started using it to swim and they wanted to clear it up some. The ducks didn't do this and even the geese wouldn't go in for a long time until I went over there and baited up a few lines and left them overnight for them. They pulled out a few BIG snapping turtles and now the ducks and geese will swim. (Nothing like getting your feet paddles grabbed while you swim to keep you out of the water.) Anyway they'd like to clear it up. I have my own problems with my pond and am getting ready to make a separate post in the algae section about that.

Thanks, I guess reading that I need to go find publication 460 on turbid muddy water. Most of our problems comes from too much fertilizer from runoff, leaves, etc.
