I was sitting in a public bathroom stall the other day taking care of business when a voice in the next stall says,"So how's it going?" Not knowing what to say and hoping this was not one of "those people" I reply with a shaky voice, "Just fine." The next sentence out of my stall neighbor's mouth was, "So what ya doing?" Oh dear I'm thinking. This is not good. "Taking care of business," I respond with growing anxiety. Much to my chagrin the guy then says, "Care if I come over there?" Now seriously alarmed and trying my best to get things done and the hell out of there I yell back "Hell yes I do care!" Next thing I know I hear, "Karen I'm going to have to hang up the cell now." Some idiot in the next stall keeps answering me every time I ask you a question!"

That's funny. I have a lot of nervous energy and tap my feet all the time when sitting still (ADHD. From recent news accounts I need to be careful, huh?

More reason I hate pooping in public bathrooms...plus watching all the dudes walk out without washing their hands..and then they shake someone's hand over the next hour or so. Yuck!

That's another thing I don't like doing...shaking people's hands. Hands are many times full of germs. Where did the germ spreading custom (hand shaking) come from and when can we end it?! How many people has that silly custom killed or made sick over the decades/centuries? Lets touch elbows or something...or bow like the Asians do...much healthier!

While you're on the subject Zep ever notice many public bathrooms require you to open the door when you're exiting? So just think once you make contact with the handle you make contact with every guy that used the restroom and of course the lazy ones that don't wash their hands.

If we ever have a virulent virus get started in this country it will spread faster than wildfire.

It's about as dumb as the no carbon monoxide detectors in that school in Atlanta recently.

Also, I'm 100% with you on the bathroom door issue, and also faucets or soap/towel dispensers. Airports are the worst if they don't have auto everything. I do not miss traveling - at all. If I have to touch anything in a bathroom I figure I'm better off taking my chances on my own germs and don't do any washing. Suffice it to say I go to extreme lengths to avoid public bathroom use.

I'm a serial, throw a wet paper towel on the bathroom floor offender. I refuse to touch a bathroom door. Most places I frequent have started putting a trash can by the door to make people like me less problematic.

Al if only all public bathrooms had "doors" like at DFW Airport!
There are no doors! Which means no nasty door handles.
Just two 90 degree turns and no doors are needed.
Whoever came up with that idea back in the 1970's was way ahead of their time.

Most places are pretty good about putting a hand sanitizer dispenser in their bathrooms now so what I do is get a load of that in my left hand and open the door with my right.

Some of these re-born threads are showing us members who we haven't heard from in a long, long time.

I once saw some half-wit eating an apple in a bathroom at a game and while he was taking a whizz he sat it down on the top of the urinal while he did his business..when he finished he picked it back up and started chomping again...I was stunned! Some people really belong in a zoo.

Well, as a pledge at a fraternity in college, I learned that "gross" is a pretty big spectrum.

To better educate my self I've started at the beginning and working my way To the day i joined the forum. I got alote of reading to do. Come across some good stuff.

I read somewhere that kids that are NOT exposed to a wide variety of germs are more prone to getting allergies.

I agree, try to be as clean as possible, but our bodies gotta build up antibodies from somewhere, right?
