Florida's and Northern�s both have pros and cons. The Florida strain grows faster than the Northern strain, but the Florida strain is less aggressive and is hard to catch on artificial baits. Conversely, the northern strain is more aggressive but doesn�t grow as fast. F1 bass combine the good qualities of its parents. They grow fast, I believe faster than pure Florida strain bass, and are as aggressive as the Northern strain.
I believe most people recommend I mix of all three strains. The ratio I found was 25% Florida, 45% Northern, and 30% F1.
