Look at the bottom of the page. You will see the time it takes to generate pages, such as:
"Generated in 2.117 seconds in which 2.028 seconds were spent on a total of 12 queries."
This is way faster than we have been seeing. Before the database update (not to be confused with the software update), we were generating pages anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds, or not at all. If we stay in the 1 to 4 second range, that is plenty fast. We are in one of the peak times right now and I am seeing 1 to 3 second load times.
We'll just continue to keep an eye on performance and make a server move if necessary.

Pedal to the metal babeeeee!
JP you're the man!
Less than 1 second to load the main page! Even I can't get distracted by a shiny object in that length of time!
Now to go back and see what I've missed over the past few days....

What would we call the forum? bloomingidiots.com ????? imonkey.com ???? youboob.com ??? (can I say boob? I meant the goofy type not the that... well you know the other type).

At times, I'm moving along at an acceptable pace. Then, I'm walking in fresh concrete.

I never noticed this website to be slow, until it got all "dolled up". I don't blame anybody for upgrades when they are beneficial, but if it slows the system down, it kind of defeats the purpose.

Robinson-
The reason we had to upgrade was because the old software had developed bugs. Infopop (UBB), who developed our Pond Boss Forum software, did not support the old format. It was either upgrade, or risk crashing and possibly losing valuable data.
I would have preferred to just keep things as they were if it was working. In this case, it was broke, so we did have to fix it.

Me thinks we still haves a problem : Generated in 17.389 seconds in which 17.332 seconds were spent on a total of 10 queries. Zlib compression enabled. That's what I got when I logged on tonight. I also believe it was quite a bit longer than 17 seconds, unless I'm in some kind of time warp. [Edit: Now I'm kind of embarrassed. After I logged on, I posted a new thread. It all was extremely fast. After I posted, I checked for new activity -- which was also real fast. Then I saw Bob Lusks post below. It too came up real fast.]

I'm concerned that what I posted above was premature, and not typical of what is happening. Me thinks we still haves a problem : Generated in 17.389 seconds in which 17.332 seconds were spent on a total of 10 queries. Zlib compression enabled. That's what I got when I logged on tonight. It too came up real fast.] I've been on and off the site in the last 90 minutes since I logged in. Each time I've looked at a thread, this is typical of what I've seen: Generated in 0.063 seconds in which 0.006 seconds were spent on a total of 12 queries. Zlib compression enabled.
It has been lightening fast.
