Been a while since I posted just wanted to let you know that I didn't defy gravity and go cartwheeling off the face of the planet (not that I haven't tried mind you). Just life getting in the way of fun. Not only have I been very busy work wise but I had a tenant move out of a rental property in which he did over $6,000 in damage to. So the wife and I have been working evenings and weekends getting the place ready to re-rent. Dang I hate being a landlord. But the good news is the work is done and the property is re-rented.

On top of that my Mom & Dad had (yes past tense) a dog that they dearly loved. Unfortunately a Coyote got into their yard and killed (brutally I might add) their companion. Because they were so distraught I had to deal with the aftermath (yard cleanup and burial duty) - not a pretty site. After some searching they found another dog and are on to greener pastures.

Don't mean to gripe but this is family talk so I thought I'd talk about family (what a concept).

And if I ever catch that coyote I'm prepared...



Any truth to the rumor that they taste like chicken?

Anyhoo, Jeffhasapond is back for better or worse, for richer or $6,000 poorer, in sickness (including those of the mental variety) and in health.

They aren't guite as good as chicken, but better that whooping crane. At least that's what the cajuns say.

At least the renter didn't burn down the place and the coyote didn't attack mom and dad.

Heck I been gone bout three years and still was welcommed with open arms.

we had coyote problems they ate all the pheasents which we used to have a lot of. they also killed some of my grandpas sheep and have taken their toll on my neighbors sheep. they are awsome to listen to but they do do damage. I can shoot anywhere from 5-10 a winter and i dont hunt that much. Some of the farmers use a crude trap but it does the job. they attach a large shark hook to a strong fishing line then bait it. it works but its messey i stick to hunting them. As for the rental house i work for my friends dad who owns over a dozen houses and iv seen some serious damage. the worst was a house he got for really cheap broken windows no doors trash filling the house dirty dipers etc but the worst was the dead deer on the back steps. that took forever to clean but it was worth it

I have a renter moving out this weekend. Fix up will take a little bit of time and I had to explain to them last night that their problems were not my problem. It has to be just as clean when they move out as it was when they moved in. They get the remainder of their deposit when everything like holes in the wall are repaired.

The worst thing is that I will have to stay in town on weekends until it is rented.

My wife grew up cleaning and fixing up her Dad's rentals when the tenants moved out. She does really neat little plywood figures to cover holes in hollow core doors.

In 24 years of marriage, she's only had to install one of them because of me.

and not to divulge too much info, but jeff has also lovingly handled things during his wife's recovery from neck surgery.....the man is a saint....Godbless ya....good to have you back.

I didn't mention it here on the forums but my wife was run off the road by a teenage driver last June (2006). The end result was two crushed disks in her neck. She tried every type of non-invasive fix possible (physical therapy, steriod injections, epidural injections, and even acupuncture) all to no avail. Finally last month she had surgery on her neck in which they removed two disks and replaced them with donor bone and the fused them with a metal plate.

So far so good.

It's been a busy month!
