My next door neighbor has a pet cow that's just about as big as Fred (not really, but she is huge). Her name is Rosie. He bought her as a calf and she became family. She lives with a gelding named Zanzabar (mixed relationship; seems to work). The only thing they do is eat, sleep, and walk around a little in an area of about 1/3 acre.
Rosie is danged fat. I've been meaning to post a thread to ask the cattle-guys...this thread will do just fine. Q: can a cow get too fat? What is the life expectancy? This cow is jet black, and her girth is extreme. She can barely walk. Is this a happy cow or is she fat and miserble? No PETA attitude...just wonderin' if my neighbor is doing more damage than good.
