I thought it would be interesting to compare costs of common items from different locations.
Northern Alberta
Gas $4.20/gallon
6 pack Coors lite $14.30
8"-10" Rainbow trout $3.50
Smokes $10.00/pack
Electricity $.08/KW
Natural gas $7.80/GJ
Average single detached home (Edmonton) $250,000.
Tulsa Rufnek 30 ton oilfield winch $18,500. \:D

It was 1 to 1 when I traveled to Toronto and St Johns, NF. I know, it is supposed to be like .85 to 1.00. Try to get that.

No smokie, but I think aabout $3 per pack

I'm afraid I must refrain from listing the local price of a "Tulsa Rufnek 30 ton oilfield winch"; they are a glut on the market here and as such have become embarrassingly inexpensive.

Seriously, Wood, I'll have to look most of that stuff up. I always send the kids out for my smokes and my two-fours. I do know gas is $2.90/gallon and headed past $3.

...I thought Wood was talkin' about an escort service. Then I realized it wasn't wench . I must now review my entire list for accuracy.

All I can add is that a case of my favorite fine German beer, Henninger, costs me $24.95.

Golden Shiners are $3.00/dozen at the bait shop.

The $6.00 per 6 pak is my favorite 'german' beer, too. Ziegenbok, by Bud...no place but Texas. The only Bud product I can drink. Myself and 2 buddies must be the only guys who drink it. When we have our bi monthly safety meeting at hooters, they have to break some out of the cold storage.

Gasoline $2.80 to $2.90

Smokes are, I think, about $5.00. Texas slapped on an additional $1.00 sin tax per pack last year.

Home prices and power depend on the area but run about what Burgers do.

I buy beer (Bud) by either the case or truckload at less than $20.00 per case. We're still negotiating with the distillery on the truckloads.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
