About 3 weeks ago I let 200 3" feeders go in the pond, which gradually goes to 14' deep. You can only see 1-2' deep due to the fresh digging of this mud bottom pond.
Will these fish stay down to the depths? I'd have thought in a new pond they'd stay near the surface for feeding, as there is little down there. Just bugs etc coming in around the edges at the moment, no plantlife to speak of yet. I never see any live fish yet.
I've found 6-7 dead fish, and a heron had been hanging around but hasn't lately.
I know goldfish aren't the best idea here but figure they're cheap mosquito larvae control for now.

Are there any other fish in the pond besides the goldfish?
I wonder if you threw some feed in at the same spot on a regular basis, if you would see some of the goldfish.
