We actually have a 40 acre field and a 30 acre field with sunflowers. We planted a few years back, and with all this rain it came back strong this year. We've shredded about half already, and we will shred the rest a little closer to dove season. Rockytopper is right about some fields being hundreds of acres...if only we had enough land to have fields like that!

Talked to a fiend this weekend about dove hunting and the friends place we go to they a going to harvest the 50+ acres of milo this weekend so there should be plenty of doves come opening weekend. They just got done harvesting the 40 acres of corn this past week. The whites are hot and heavy right now.

I'm still in as far as I can tell. I'm looking forward to the fishing as much as the hunting.

Well I took a picture of the same field of sunflowers I posted up earlier. This field is ready to be mowed. I mowed one swath today. I will wait and mow the rest next weekend. I would estimate that there are 200 doves already using the field before mowing.
