Additonally we are feeding pellets that have been designed for trout or at lower protein levels for catfish or talapia. There is no pellet feed that has been specifically designed for bluegills or even yellow perch or largemouth bass for that matter. One problem is fish that are fed entirely on pellets get too many carbs which causes them to be obese and functional diabetics. This may also shorten their lifespans. This is expecially pronounced in largemouth bass which also do not as of yet, have a feed that is specifically forumlated for them. However the new large pellets produced by Aquamax for largemouth bass do have lower carbs and are supposed to emulate the components of a rainbow trout. My bass love them. I may experiment with busting them up for my other fish if the carbs are lower.
