Sasketchewan plants triploid trout. Both rainbows and brooks that I know of. A lot of people don't know it, but triploid trout are not that uncommon in some places. Most trout farms these days have given up keeping broodstock on hand and going through the labor and expense of producing their own trout. Many order triploid or sterile female eggs from places like Trout Lodge in Washington state. My state of Indiana is experimenting with ordering eggs to cut costs for their inland rainbow trout program. I have read all coho and chinooks in Canada raised for food market are triploids.
