I'm with Bill on this. I think you need to build a cage to get any significant feed training in. Or a tank on the shore with netting on top with a small sump pump to pump in pond water and rig it up to overflow back into the pond. If you don't crowd them with good water quality they won't take to the pellets very well. Another thing that will help a lot for feed training is to soften the pellets as per Cody's recipe. Pinch the air out of them as you feed to get them to slowly sink.
