Finally did some fishing. Thought I would try to catch some catfish, so I cut up a sunfish. Got 2 catfish but the thing that surprized me was a 2 Lb. Large Mouth bass ate the cut bait. Anyone catch bass on cut bait?

Do chunks of deer liver count? I've caught LMB on that twice while fishing for CC.

I have fished for bass straight down in heavy cover with shad and bluegill and we'd cut the tail off sometimes. Reds like cutbait too.

I've caught big bluegill on cutbait.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I caught a 3.5 lb LMB on a trotline set for FHCF baited with a cinnamon raisin bagel soaked with a little strawberry jello. The right fish on the right day, anything works.
