I took Double Burger, Jr. to Brazos Bend State Park a few weeks ago. Gators everywhere now. A guy told me he went during the drought last year, and there were literally thousands(probably hundreds(. A BIG one swam really near to the pier where we were fishing. Obviously he had been tossed caught fish in the past. Pretty scary. Well...DBJ scared him away flailing his Spiderman rig around, and generally causing his usual commotion. Good thing he was with me.

Wow Gator great post! The end of an era, old Sneaky Pete moving on to new location. When you first posted photos of Sneaky Pete it was a great reminder of what a diverse group of ponds and pond related issues we have here on PB. The biggest threat in my pond is get bitten by RES or getting tangled in Elodea, no prehistoric beasts that would view me as forage. . Course we do have lions and tigers and bears oh my. (Ok no tigers, but my neighbor spotted a bear wandering across the property and mountain lions have been spotted around also.) In fact DIED chases mountain lions but that's a story for another day. Somehow I'm gonna miss old Sneaky Pete but at least now Gator you can swim in your pond without fear of consumption.
