Chris: Thanks for the bait info and encouragement! I have PLENTY of BG body-parts, though the more traditional "stinking chicken parts" sounds pretty effective also. I will try KW's suggestion first though. That seems to be the path of least resistance, IE easiest. \:\) My bride and I drive long-haul, DOD stuff supporting our troops, so waiting for the CC's to grow fat n' sassy isn't too hard, for we aren't home too much. Our ranch is in Southern Oregon, so rain and full ponds are usually not a problem. Ours over-flowed Thanksgiving Day this last year, and has kept pretty full since with lots of ground water seeping in. Evaporation takes about 1-ft a month throughout the warm months, so we are blessed in that arena. We can take a 4' loss pretty easy, which is the norm, as the pond is 2 acres and 20' deep when full. But then too, some years we SWEAR we are growing webbed feet... ;\)
