It's probably a gray ratsnake, or perhaps a lighter phase of a black rat snake. They're normally very thin-bodied, so that one looks very healthy. Young ones tend to bite a lot, the older ones can be very placid. You never know how important they are until they are all gone and the mice take over. I badly need one in my tractor shed. I think the king snakes ate all of mine.
