I have notice several different types of minnows walking areound the pond the other day. I the ones I normaly see are bream, where they are a green to a baige looking color. When I come around them they usually school up and run in certain direction, but in a school.
I saw somme others that were a much darker color (green or black) and they behave differently. They tended to more or less scater when I came around and they would sink down deeper in the water. They seemed to hang near the surface when they were undisturbed in a schooling pattern. But like I said before when I came around them, they would disorganise and sink deeper in the water. Does anyone know what type of minnows these are?

What kinds of fish do you have in your pond? I also have alot of little minnows swimming around and I think they are crappie.Do you have bass by any chance?

big pond, any chance of catching some of these minnows and posting a picture? It is hard to tell what they could be from a written description. Heck, even with photos at times some small fish are hard to identify with a lot of certainty.
