Interesting Update here. Looked in the pond and the eggs are still there and getting a bit of silt on them now. In the ribbon you can see some tiny white individual eggs but nothing more than that. I would have expected to see something more happen here.
This is the second year for teh YP to spawn and I am beginning to think the males are either not fertelizing the eggs or that there are no males present. As was stated before on this post, we did have a wicked cold spell for about 6-8 days after they spawned.
I know that the eggs usually hatch between 8 and 25 days after spawn. It just looks like the eggs on the ribbons here are not doing anything at all. All I see is little white eggs in the ribbon.
Any thoughts on what may be going on is appreciated. Thanks!
