Hmmm.....
I honestly don't know a better way to mail the darn thing. First class costs almost as much as printing the magazine and we are on a thin margin as it is.
If any of you know a better way to get this thing out, let me know.
Burger, send a check.....don't penalize us because the U.S. Postal Service is slow. We do our part, they don't.

Hey Bob, any reason not to have an online members only section with the magazine??

What do you mean? Are you suggesting online subscriptions and an electronic copy for those subscribers?

Yep. A password protected section with either PDF's or just the content from the magazaine. I just requested back-copies of the magazine, and I'm sure that would be an easier distribution as well (i.e. I'd pay much more to have access to the entire PB library online) Okay, I'm a geek and want everything online, and am probably one of the few who wants RSS on this forum too! (btw - it's avail in the newer version!)

My company also has a magazine division where we distribute about 15 different bi-monthly magazines to an average sub base of about 12,000 (total circ about 200,000). I'm going to check with our mailer as I think we usually hit the entire US in about 3-4 days - but it might be a $$ issue.

I, for one, would gladly pay the extra $$ for 3-4 day service. Also for the pdf online mag.
For Texas to have to distribute from Pennsylvania, well, that's just unAmerican. I still remember the Love Ya Blue vs. Steel Curtain days. Maybe when the new renewal cards are printed up, there could be an option.. check which delivery method and the cost diff. Maybe that would cause a whole new accounting headache, though. I'm game for any change. High teck pondbossing, hi-teck pond boss. I bet your subsciption numbers would go up dramatically.

If the price is right, I will hand deliver. We would be more than glad to send a copy first class, hot off the presses. It's only a matter of the dollars.....we'll play.

Dave, unfortunately Bob mailed you my copy of PB. That is the only explanation of why you got a magazine before me. Please stop adulterating my magazine and forward it to me as soon as possible. \:D

All joking aside though, I don't really care when it gets here, a few days here or there just build suspense. The same great stories and photos will be contained in the magazine either way. I'm a techno-geek also but for magazine content I prefer the printed version. It gets here when it gets here. I'd rather have any additional mailing costs stay in the PB coffers to ensure the continuance of this (award winning) great mag.

The issue with a "soft" version is that you'll suffer a lot of abuse for reading the mag on the most comfortable seat in the house.

Wife: "Honey, if you take that damn laptop into the can one more time, I'm calling an attorney!"

Reader: "Sweetie, really, I'm just reading Pond Boss maganzine. I'm not surfing X-rated sites."

Wife: "Too bad...no one wants to touch the laptop when you're done! And don't try and tell me you're learning how to grow big lepomis...I don't even know what that means!!!!!!!"

Plus, if you don't have wireless at your house, the enjoyment factor is way reduced.

If I had a laptop 'puter, I'd suspect Sunil of having bugged my house.

Thanks, Kathy, Thailand received the PB yesterday. Some how the Jan-Feb issue took the boat instead of the plane, so it was USPS not Thai Post to blame.

Does this normally happen for all of you that have not rec'd the mag yet.

I'm thinking something has gone wrong with mailing for this issue.

I read this stuff and checked the mailbox. It's here.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
