Looking in my rear view mirror:

I recently found a blurb in an old PB magazine about the web site that they were going to try to get online. That one was finally clobbered by a hacker.

I still remember a bunch of the guys that were around on the previous site and I remember thinking that we knew what we were talking about. We just didn't have enough sense to realize the depth and extent of our ignorance. I recall a light going on about 2 years ago when I discovered that I was a mile wide but only an inch deep. I'll be a student forever but have no hope of ever becoming a master.

So what is my point?

First, I still learn things out of the mag that I don't even know the questions for. My most memorable article was one by Lusk about pond maintenance year around. It's never been here. Actually, almost none of the Pro's that write ever post here. The annual price of the mag is cheaper than the gas to visit my ponds.

Second, nothing to offer? All any of us do is record our own experiences and I find that it varies. Most of us are no more than students in this stuff. Hop in anytime and teach me something that I don't know.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done.
