I just discovered that the pond has common carp. Either from a waterbird foot, live bait, or pet gold fishes. I have never seen one before in the past 10 years nor heard that anyone caught one. This was a dead female 13" at about 1LB. I can't drain, poison, or nuke.

My plan is try to fish them out while I maintain a high LMB population. I will remove the the adults. The Bass will take care of the fry.

Any suggestions? Best way to fish for carp?

Corn will work, bagals will work, corn meal, or take white bread moisten it and work it with your fingers add some rasberry jello, maybe some vannella and put a hunk of it on the bottom or get a carp rig. I had a 17 pounder in my pond I caught him and removed it but now I kinda wish I left it since I am fairly sure it was the only one.

I am afraid there is more than one.

Since they are both bottom feeders would Channel Cats also put pressure on any carp? Compete for food & space? Also eat the carp fry?

I have had a few large carp "dropped off" by interlopers. I feed at my deck, so they find that real quick. A .22 does the job well. I don`t have any now.
