You guys are right, I probably shouldn't be so sensitive. I'm having a pretty cruddy day, anyway.
Is there any way to find out if this is a statewide problem in Washington, i.e. check with another office and see if the response is universal? Maybe some of the NRCS folks are so inundated with other types of requests that they go to lengths to keep away "new responsibilities".
I would assume that most of us are aware of what staff reductions can do to our workload. Is there some kind of literature that states the mission of the NRCS? I'd be interested to see what their mandate is.
