I wish it would head your way i cant remember when we have had this much rain. Last winter it was bone dry here and the summer we were in a drought. This weather is crazy.

Tell me about it....My contractor has been waiting since late August for my property to dry out enough to enlarge my existing pond. Doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon.

Hey James, these guys are breakin my heart. I've been doing a real mean hoochie koochie for 8 years and I'm still 6 ft. low.

6ft low you say? remove 6ft of the dam, and you have a fool pool. Problem solved. You can thank me when you have a chance.

To Dam or not to dam

That isn't even a question

After 8 years with low water, one might conclude that the rain gods want to see a different booty doing the shaking.

We got 4" of rain in January but are still a bit drier than usual here in middle Tennessee. I need roughly 2 more feet for the pond to be full.

Lance, now why didn't I think of that?

Theo, almost any being, celestial or not, would rather seeing any booty shake but mine.

I'm pretty waterlogged, too. If there's any good news, I'm getting a glimpse of "Worst case scenario" in deciding the where, when and how, in choosing the exact place to build our home around the pond.

Dave, have faith...I see the rain in your area. You won't measure it in buckets, but it's trending on the upside of 2005's arid torture, and 2006's spit. The ground is well saturated from the weatherman's Arctic Blast's predictions, 2007 Spring rains will have runoff & you dancing in the streams. This year we actually dump some water over the spillway ! Hang in there, and I hope you finished your low-water level chores !
