I saw Eastland's comment about dreaming about rain, and I recalled doing the same thing myself. Is this a common afliction? I bet I dream about how the pond has filled up with water, and all the plants I've seeded to feed and attract wildlife are growing like crazy, twice a month. Then, I wake up to reality, and disappointment, which is eventually overtaken by hopeful optimism.

I dream about my pond all the time...most of the time, it's either 10 times larger, or 10 times smaller (nightmares) I once had some unknown bulldozers pushing dirt up over my dam...I can always see the fish in the water too. It's not uncommon to catch a fish I can't identify either !

I've dreamed about my pond(s) over and over again. It's the typical insecurity/fear of failure type stuff. You know, Pond's going empty, fish are all dying, dam's busting kinda scenarios.

Are you late for Fisheries Management class and can't find your waders?

I dream about dozens of big, beautiful fish, swimming around in shallow water practically begging to be caught. The last time there was a Redear that had to be at least 12" long; when I pulled it out it was taller than it was long.

That's one of the biggest BG I have ever seen. It's certainly in my top 10.

That's my cousin Stumpy Jack's son Ewest (no relation). Although he was only 13 at the time, he was already benchpressing 6 month old hereford heifers in 4-H weightlifting, so the BG was no problem.

Lil' Ewest is an avid reader. IIRC, he was seeing if the one-shoe-off approach discussed in Horace Higby and the Scientific Pitch would result in better control in casting. The answer is obvious.

I'm not sure what he was using for bait, but that was about the time our tomcat disappeared.

Now that my pond is just about full, I find myself day dreaming about the grass around it more than anything else.

I keep picturing what it might look like with green grass all the way around it and how it will feel to mow it.

Since Furhead Wheel Chock keeps the drag-line from crushing me and Big Head Sally just sits there purr in� for moral support, that dream has faded into absurdity.

Now, I debate with myself during dreams; should the pond barge frame be made from aircraft quality aluminum 2in x 3in tubing or 2in x 4in tubing? Possibly marine quality tubing would be OK? Should I have it black anodized so the fish can�t see it or should�..

Theo, how old were you in that pic? Did the adult figures in your life alter the pictures from your childhood, to coverup disappointment? If you could, can you look back onto that day and remember what fish you caught? Was it a minnow? We aren't here to judge or persecute you, only here to help.

Interesting theory. That could explain why my parents got a new airbrush every other year and why family album pictures of me are as scarce as shots of Trotsky with Lenin and Stalin.

I had to read a few of these dreams before I'd admit to any of my own. I thought I was the only one who went to bed at night dreaming of new ponds, ponds filling up, pond projects, and of course big fish! I gotta admit that more often than not I'm dreaming of my ponds or some other wildlife management aspect of my land. Wonder what those kind of dreams mean?

Fishpond

Honestly, I have had that dream more than once.

Have I ever mentioned that our neighbors down the road claim to have caught 3 LMB over 11 lbs. out of our pond when the previous owner was draining it? Our current state record is 10# 12 oz., and I have seen the neighbors pictures.

The reality of it was that I could not find one word in that dream that had a meaning. So then it hit me, this was way to easy. As you can imagine, I had thought of a lot of things, but I decided to keep it simple and not to harsh!
