Looking to stock some of these in the pond. Can someone please direct me to a place that sells them.

Contact your fish and game department or check out their website. They should have a list of private producers.

If you are stocking yellow perch into an existing relatively weed free pond that contains largemouth bass, experience has shown that the stocker perch should be at least 8" long. Otherwise you will probably never see any evidence of them after stocking and you will probably never see any offspring.

When stocking new fish into an existing pond, that has a relatively normal fish community, it is recomended that one remove some of the existing(competition) and similar sized fish so the new fish have a better chance of getting food to improve chances of survival.

Thanks for the replies! THis is a new pond with no fish in it right now. He would like to have yellow perch, bass, bluegill catfish. The pond is 22 feet deep in the deepest spots, and will have weed cover in the shallows. Its about 3 1/2 acres total.

Absolutely. I'm about to call Dave to see if he has some yellow perch this spring for my Dad's pond. He also grows some big Donaldson strain rainbow trout.

Bruce I thought your dad's pond had YP. Have you fished the boiled alive YP out already or is this grow out batch number 2 ? :p

I'm looking for another year class to add to the pond. The YP that are in the pond are mostly over eleven inches now so I'd like to get some eight and nine inchers in there so we can have a couple more YP fish frys!
