I use a tripod with an adjustable ball head from
http://www.trail-pod.com/ They also have a tree-mount model with adjutable ball head that mounts on a tree.
The tripod is very sturdy with solid construction. It has 2 bubble levels for correct orientation of both the legs and the ballhead, and is easy to adjust. Tripod height adjusts from 1.5 to 4 feet.
It has a heavy metal plate to mount your camera. The plate has lots of openings to allow mounting of almost any model game cam. They describe it as "Universal mounting plate will fit all trail cameras".
It is VERY easy to adjust the camera direction and angle with the ball head or to move the entire tripod to another location.
I use my trail-pod near a tree and then use a cable lock to secure my cam to the tree.
They incluise a fabric (nylon???) carrying bag and three metal stakes to drive thru the tripod feet to keep tripod from falling over.
Highly recommended! I am have used many tripods over the years as a photographer and these are study.
They sell 4 models:
tree mount with ball head $60
tripod WITHOUT ball head $60
tripod with ballhead green color $80
tripod with ballhead camo color $90
I don't have any connection with the company other than being a satisfied customer.I bought three.
