Update: Good news. No more dead and/or dying BG to be found at all. Reason? My 12ga pursuaded the (surviving) merganzers to move on... What a lesson! Thank you all SOOOOOOO much for the advice and encouragement! Like I say, PB is like an online college course in pond-meistering with the most broad-based knowledge and help anyone could ever wish for. What a happy ending! Again, THANK YOU ALL!
