My poor old (new) pond. Dug in February '06, still no more than 1/4 of full depth.

I feel for ya Jack...for me, new pond in July of '05 (yeah, that's right, last summer) and still only about 1/3 full, depthwise. Probably nowhere near 1/4 by volume. And, I just stock with BG, RE and CC this fall. Thinking positive, as it's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.

Went ice-fishing yesterday on other pond...won't get to do that for a while, again, I bet.

I thing we will have to pool our resources and hire someone to do a genuine rain dance and if that doesn't work have Bruce Condello do a non genuine rain dance.

All of my ponds have some water in them. That's not always been true. However, by volume, I am down better than 50%.

James, I didn't get much moisture out of the recent snow/ice. Congrats on yours.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I feel for you guys and am in the same boat. 2 out of the 4 small ponds I've done stocking in over the last couple of years are bone dry & the other 2 are in serious trouble. We had another larger pond go dry as well and took the opportunity to have some dozer work done on it. If it will ever fill, we should be good to go with the increased area and depth. This summer has made it awful hard to stay enthused on the ponds... \:\(

I empathize with the above sentiments. I used to go straight to the pond on my arrival to the property. Now I seem to find other many other things to attend to first. Six acre pond down to 1.5. I am starting on a duck marsh as of Thursday but it will have to serve as a deer food plot for the foreseeable future.
