I had to replace the first Leaf River 6SS. The compact flash card was sticking in the camera. Instead of returning it to Cabelas, I shipped it overnight to Don at Leaf River. When I got the replacement in a few days, it has updated firmware with a new feature or two. Apparently Cabelas had a run of cameras from a year ago and Leaf River had improved the firmware. Perhaps this would fix your exposure problems??
My brother's Moultrie is lasting for 700 pictures on one battery.
