It's easy to see why the LMB is the top dog predator in most ponds. These bad boys will eat almost anything that fits into their mouth. My wife and I were Yak fishing (no were weren't fishing for the big hairy animal, we were fishing from our Kiyak \:D ), anyhoo, while Yak fishing my wife was using a minnow lure that was about 3 inches long. An adolescent LMB hit it. She reeled it in and the bass was only about 7 inches long. I wish I had taking a photo of it, the lure was about half as long as the fish. I don't know how the LMB was planning on swallowing the darn lure.

Green Sunnies are highly aggressive also. We have caught them on various lures that I would have never thought they would strike.

As an also and besides, fishing from a kiyak is a blast. We have a two person Kiyak and the wife and I fish from it all the time. It quiet, easy to manuevre, takes very little paddling effort, and is not tippy like a canoe. (Had a bad experience with 3 people in a canoe once but that is a story for another day ).
