Hey I see what appears to be a bit of rain in Texas. Is that true? How are you folks doing down there? Are you starting to catch up? Good luck to you all.

I see some activity on the radar but it hasn't reached us yet. I am going to play golf and dare it to rain on me.

I am hopeful for all of my friends with low water. I dealt with the draught last year and feel your pain!! I know this year how lucky I have been to have things relatively good.

I will be keeping my eye on that storm. I am seeing lots of red and yellow sections in the radar and I hope it means a gully washer for most of you!!!!

Good luck and please do dare the Golf Rain Gods!! As a matter of fact wash the car and plant grass seed and anything else that gets ruined by rain!! Then your sure to get some. \:D ;\)

Thanks Eric, It is frustrating to know there is nothing we can do to make it rain. I have seen the storm you are talking about and Texas looks like it might get some good rains, but here it looks like its headed North. \:\(

That was my problem last year. We had rains all aroundus and it would be flood type of rains as close as 5 miles from my pond, yet we ended up getting nothing at the pond all year. Last year my rain meter said I had a total of 3.2 inches from May - Sept. I was cursing the radar becuase it always looked as though it was going to hit, then it went above or below us or just fizzeled out all together.

Such is the life on a pond. Living one rain shower to the next!

Burger, I am sorry to hear that!! My heart goes out to you. The only way I kept mine going was ( thank god mine is small enough ) I added water from the garden hose on a 24/7 basis. I think I added over $1000 in water last year but kept everything alive.

This year I have flooded over the banks at least 10 times this summer. What a change a year makes.

Was over there in mid July. Rain all around, we got maybe 2 inches, but slow. Had 4 ft. deepest. There in Sept, had 2 1/2 ft. Been a big high pressure since then. Well, it's just fish. Now wont have to dig a hole to put them in while redoing it this fall. Will just have to buy some bigger ones to stock for instant fishing for the grandkids. Just have to get it good shape to manage it from afar.

I think we got 2" today. First good rain my place has seen since spring. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t much runoff, but the trees and plants got much needed relief. I hope everyone else benefited from the rain today.

Glad to hear the rains were good in some areas. Sorry to hear that others it was a soaking rain as opposed to a good run off.

I only got 1" here in 15 minutes. The ground just soaked it all up. No help for the pond which is getting close to critical. The good news is:

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers after 1am.
Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers.
Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

May not seem like much, but when you have been weeks and weeks without even a 20% chance it is great.
