Happy dance
I got my pond, I got my pond
Happy dance
Ok here's the deal:
I'm moving a bit north (central Indiana) in two months to live near the rest of the family. My aunt has given me a pond to do with whatever I please
It's been about a year since I've seen the pond, It's been neglected completely for about 8 to 10 years now. It's about 1 acre (maybe a little less),spring fed (I believe), oval, trees around the back half away from the dam. Last I saw it was mucked up pretty bad with algae mats and probably filling in with leaf debris. It had bluegill, lmb and channel cats stocked at one time, plus whatever my uncle decided to release into it from time to time.
So it'll take a little work, but I can't wait to get started, and put some of the great advice I've read here into practice
I'd like it to be a little different than the 20 thousand other ponds in the area (lmb,bg,cc) so maybe yellow perch/smallmouth bass. Perhaps a few trout in the winter and tilapia in the summer? We'll see.
I was going to go to bed at a decent hour tonight, but now my mind is racing and sleep is impossible!
In 2 months I'll be able to officially call my self a
junior Pond Boss
