To answer a few follow-ups from the previous post.

I used the Vertex Air VII system for aeration.

I'm not a big picture taker, but I do plan to document things going forward.

The feed trained bass are F-1s. My follow up stocking will be a Florida strain because those bass are my target trophies. I have arranged to purchase left over brood stock from a hatchery.

The goldfish were out of Arkansas and that is a bit of a rub right now...the source we used in May is out of the goldfish game (maybe that is why their prices were good in May) and we are not getting back good prices on goldfish right now. We are trying to bid out a truckload (2000 lbs) and the rates are way more than I want to pay, so we may have to drop back to shad or shiners. I REALLY want to keep the goldfish because they make such a killer energy exchange for the bass and I know about how many I have left by looking at the water...hopefully I'll get it straight. I'll keep you posted...I promise I won't let 'em starve!

BTW - I just played with my new fish tagging system last weekend. I wanted to experiment on some smaller feed trained bass before I go sticking my long term trophy fish. I took length/weight measurements and slapped a tag in em...pretty easy.

I got 2 tagging systems. One requires a gun and the other does not. Maybe that can be my first picture post, I'll try to snap a few pics and any of you that have experience tagging LMB can help me make sure I'm doing it correctly. The instructions that came with the tag are not very good. There were no pictures, just written instructions.

Today I have my son and and four of my nieces and nephews going out to the club for a cookout and a little fishing...except for my tagging trip which lasted 15 mins (I only tagged 10 fish and have been on the lookout for floaters), the pond has not been fished in nearly a month, so hopefully it will be fast and furious. Hunting season just opened here a few weeks ago, and with the guys getting buck-fever I doubt the pond will see much action here in the fall.
